Sea Breeze cable tv

We recently purchased a 1998 Sea Breeze and getting use to all of the features. However we just pulled in to work at an RV park. We tried plugging into the cable but we are getting no channels. We have picked up antenna stations very well since we bought it. We have 3 tvs in the RV. One we rarely use unless gkids are here. The other 2 are used regularly. We are plugged into the parks cable on the outside. Any suggestions?

Agree with the BOMB suggestion...You also might have to go to the TV and do a scan to bring up the available channels. See if your TV has an owner's manual.

And to further complicate things . . .

If the park has digital cable, and your TV(s) don't have digital tuners, then you won't be viewing TV there.

I replaced both TV's in my RV because they were not capable of receiving digital.

The original TVs may not be digital. All cable signals require a digital tuner as of 2009.

When we bought our 2006 Sea Breeze, we couldn't even "test" the roof antenna, because it still had the old 2005 TVs installed into it. No channel scan, nothing.

I upgraded a bunch of stuff in the RV, including the TVs and now they both pick up over the air signal search channels through the coax connections.

Note: Getting that big heavy front TV out was no joke. It took three of us to get it down and two of us to get it down the steps and out the door. It must have weighed 60 lbs.

NOTE: You can buy a digital TV tuner off of Amazon for like $30 if you don't feel like ripping the old TV out yet.

The conversion to digital TV in the US only required that all TVs sold had the ability to receive over-the-air digital TV signals. That's accomplished through an ATSC digital tuner.

However, the law that required this transition, did not require that TVs had to have the ability to receive digital cable signals that some RV parks now have. Digital cable requires a QAM digital tuner which many new TVs do not have.

So buyer beware when you're purchasing a new TV.

I was having issues with the original switch box in my 2000 Tropical . I found that the switch box had high internal resistance. I tried a new switch box and had the same issue. I used a cable to cable connector to verify that there were no other issues that caused loss of signal. I eliminated the switch box by running HDMI cables to the 2 TVs and using a cable A-B switch for selection of cable or antenna. You can use the input select feature if you have digital TVs. I think that those old style push button boxes are not digital signal friendly.
