Shower drain

Wifey was showering and after I noticed that the ring in the bottom of the shower was not in it's right place.
I reached in and the ring came off into my hand. (It seemed to be rotten)

BTW the shower is in a 1999 tradewind 7370.

Now it seems that the Grey water tank has to be removed to replace the stopper ring.

So now the question; Is this what has to be done or is there another way?

My rig has an access panel inside the bath area! Might look under the vanity or even behind the dinette area agents the shower wall..

found an acess door in the bedroom will investigate when I get home, are as a full timer, when I get back to my home base.

Pops- same as a convential shower/tub. Need to spray some penetrant on the drain, let it sit for a day, then use a tool made for (or end of plier handle) removal. Wouldn't think you need to mess with the grey tank. In the bedroom behind the sliding door will be the access panel (2 screws) to the drain. Don't think you need to do anything from there but you would a least be able to see the drain pipe. Your tub is not over the grey tank.

More details please - where did you get the part and how easy was it to remove the old one?

It was just a sink strainer and used only the basket bottom and the original plug ( as it can also be used as a bath) It was installed as you would a normal drain. Acsess was thru a small door in the bedroom behind the sliding door.
