Slide Maintenance

Never had a rig with slides before, so am a little paranoid about having a slide failure while out in the boondocks. Is there a manual crank if a motor fails? What maintenance should I do to keep things running smoothly?

Same with the hydraulic levelers. Seems like it might slow the departure down if the rig won't come off the jacks. Anything I can do now to keep that from happening?

Yes, you can manually retract the slides, look at the back side of the motors for the correct nut size. The bedroom slide can be a problem, since it has to extended to access the motor, can't be much help there. I use silicone spray on the nylon blocks under the bed. On the living room slide, I use a dry lube spray in the bearing supports, motor and gears.

I use a silicone spray on the jack rams, when they are extended, couple of times a year seem to do it.

Thank you, Richard! Haven't picked up the coach yet, and maybe it will come with this, but if not at least I'll know where to get it.

Concerning the jacks.....think you get them back up by using 2 x 4 and a block underneath and push up. Might have to release pressure by unscrewing the cap on the fluid reservoir. Never done this...just what I have read.
