Spartan steering wheel

I want to re-center the steering wheel.
It is oriented approximately 2 o'clock (10 o'clock in Newfouldland)
I have tried torque with a rubber strap oil filter wrench
I have tried (cautiously) prying with bodywork tool

Are you removing steering wheel?

Unless someone has removed the steering wheel and replaced it in the wrong splines that is not the correct way to fix your issue. When new the steering wheel is setup on the splines on the shaft out of the steering box (Centered) which your power steering will try to move wheel back to after a turn. If your steering wheel is not centered it normally means you need the front end aligned. Most likely some parts were replaced in the front end and the steering wheel was not centered before the did the realignment.

Can't speak to Spartan specifically, but on my Workhorse chassis the correct way to recenter the steering wheel is by adjusting the drag link between the steering box and the steering knuckle. I did it myself a few weeks ago and it was a ten minute job. After adding caster wedges to increase caster my steering wheel was off center. Changes in the toe setting can also cause the steering wheel to be off center and/or sometimes careless mechanics fail to recenter the wheel after performing an alignment.

It's only 9:30 in Newfoundland .

As mentioned , on some steering linkage set ups , centering the steering wheel is an adjustment under the coach .

Have to ask if your chassis has IFS , that could make a difference .

In that case an online search for the correct method is in order.

Thanks friends. Centering the steering wheel is not as simple as lifting the steering wheel off the splines, re-orienting and setting the SW back onto the splines?

On my Workhorse it is way easier to adjust the drag link than to remove the steering wheel.
