Speedometer Issue.

I have a 1996 ford f53 national Dolphin. at times my speedometer starts jumping around whether Iam sitting in park or driving. It gotten so bad I don't want to drive it. I checked out the sensor resistance and it checks ok. I took it to a speedometer shop. he checked out the speedometer and said it ok. He thought it probably a ground problem and reading off the tach. I called to see if he was done with the unit, the helper said they still need to replace the 12 v meter. Unfortunately he can't help me. he injured his back and won't back for a few weeks.

Appreciate if anyone had this problem or ideas on where to start on the ground check

When the speedometer my F53 Hurricane by Four Winds went crazy, I went on the internet and found a company that repairs them. I sent it to them overnight and they had it for 1 day to repair and sent it back to me overnight. The price was about $150 including shipping. That was good because, Ford had stopped making that speedometer cluster for the F53 I had. I searched and can't find the name of the company I sent it to...Sorry

The speedometer broke when we were ready to start on a trip, So I downloaded Speedometer AP on my cellphone and laid it on the dash. It was a perfect temporary fix.

update, just found my problem, believe it or not, the cause was a defective volt meter on the electrical panel. put the panel back in and ever thing works.
