Squealing AC pump in Tropical Cat 330 engine

My 2004 National Tropical with 330 diesel Caterpillar engine has a sqealing noise coming from the ac compressor. How do I tell if it is a bearing problem or compressor issue? Belt is tight. Only comes on when the ac is turned on. When i look at the ac pump/compressor the interior housing appears to stick when spinning and that is when the squealing starts. Help anyone. Thanks

Is it possible that the clutch is slipping when the a/c pump is engaged? Is it the original clutch and pump? May just need to replace the clutch

The pulley rides on the bearing, so if bad, it should squeal all of the time and be wobbly.

If the clutch is slipping, it's most likely due to the compressor failing or high pressures on the system. When receiver/dryers fail, they can send debris thru the system and block the flow. That causes high pressures.
