Thermostat Question

My DuoTherm 4 button thermostat is going on the blink. My question is, will the newer 5 button DuoTherm thermostat be a direct replacement for the older 4 button ?
Any other thermostats out there that would work ? 4 zone.
I tried to call DuoTherm service dept........ that didn't work :banghead
Any help, I would appreciate .

No the 4 and 5 are not compatible directly. Dometic has a conversion kit so that you can install the new CCC2 thermostat - it's a very easy conversion... You could try some RV boneyards or ebay perhaps to see if someone has a 4 button they're selling.

Thanks for the information. I had read somewhere that the
two were not compatible. I needed the confirmation.
Do you know of a substitute thermostat from another manufacturer ?

Has anyone found a replacement thermostat that uses the telephone data cable wiring system used by DuoTherm ?

Here is a drawing on how to remove the CCC board.

After removing you will find several of these switches mounted on the board.

Spray them with this stuff

Amazon.com: CRC QD Electrical Contact Cleaner Aerosol: Automotive

Also spray the connectors. Hell spray the whole board
You can find it at most Auto Parts Stores.

Then reassemble and try it.

It may not work, but worth a try considering the costs of replacing it.

Thermostat solution

There is a reset procedure for a DuoTherm 4 button thermostat.
Mine had intermittent problems, did the reset, problem is history.
