If it never buzzed before I think I might be worried. Have you ever tightened the connections in your transfer switch? This should be done about once a year as general maintenance.

When my transfer switch starts to make to much noise, I tighten all the connector lug and blow it out with clean dry air. Just make sure you are not connected to shore power or have the generator running when servicing.

I bought a used Class A and after about 6 months my transfer switch went out. The repair tech said a wire had come loose and shorted it out. It was a Surge Guard transfer switch. I replaced it with a Surge Guard Combo transfer switch and electrical management system that checks for low and high voltage, reverse polarity, negative ground etc, so now I don’t need to pluge one into the pedestal.
