Uneven Slide Extension, Sea View 8330

We recently purchased a vintage (1999) Sea View 8330 with a single slide and just completed our first 1,500-mile trip. We have an issue with the way the slide extends. Specifically, when I turn the key to extend the slide moves out to maybe 60 percent of its full extension and then stops. When I again turn the key to extend further, it goes maybe another 20 percent and stalls again. After a 30 second wait it goes out a little further. Two more cycles (and two more waits) and the slide is fully extended. When I retract the slide its movement back in is smooth with no interruptions.

It seems to me that this is a power issue, almost like the battery is being taxed so heavily in extending the slide that it needs a few moments to recover from the power drain. But the batteries are brand new and fully charged so that's probably not the problem. Maybe this is just an old coach being cranky but I could sure use some advice on this.

Extend the slide while the engine is running or wait till you are hooked up to shore power.

Thanks Richard, I've tied extending the slide with the engine running AND with the shore power connected and the condition persists. Many thanks for your suggestion, much appreciated.
