Question: Is the hardwood floor easier to maintain than carpet? I would be concerned about dirt being tracked in being hard on the floor.

our 2000 tradewinds also had that really old carpet, got to change it! Reading the owners manual, inspecting the floor etc it soon became evident that the lounge slide ACTUALLY slides over the carpet on nylon pads/runners. For this reason you cannot change the carpet for wooden or laminate flooring because within a short time the wood/laminate will be scuffed up by sliding the slide out in and out directly on the new flooring! Put a new carpet in, really nice, warm and the acoustics are so much better without hard flooring!
