Water pump just quit.
Hi everyone, We are out traveling and my water pump just quit. I have a 2004 Dolphin 5342. Is the water pump directly behind the outside water fill panel? Green light still lights up at the switch but no pump noise or water. The push button breaker is still in. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

just tossing it out there, but the controller that is near the pump that allows several switches in different locations , is either lost ground or the connections are corroded or loose.
even if diaphragm is dead the motor will still turn in most cases
obviously check fuse and power at the controller

Disconnect the plug in by the water pump and see if you have 12v there. If not check for a fuse. You say you have a light at the switch. That would mean you have 12v to the switch, but the switch can still be bad. Short across the switch and see what happens. If 12v at the fuse and pump you may have a bad pump.

Also to answer part of OP's question as well, yes you can take out the screws of the water control panel. It may have some spray foam and brackets in the corners (upper left as I recall?), but overall it's very straightforward.
Remove screws, note areas of interference with panel (foam, braces, etc) and guide it out and it will kind of come out and fold out toward you and kind of stay there because of all the flexible connections behind it. You do not need to remove any handles or fittings to do this. There's enough slack, albeit not a lot, to move it down and away from the opening.
You will then see the water pump tucked in there, should you need to access or test it directly.

Happened to me once. The quick disconnect connecting the 12 volt input wire to the water pump pigtail had disconnected itself. Don't know how, but it did. You'll have to pull the water inlet panel to get to it.

Thanks everyone! I love the community support! We are running around Rocky Mountain NP so I haven’t opened it up yet. When it quit my wife had started to fill a coffee pot and there was burst of rusty looking water and it quit. Don’t what that indicates. System was flushed and sanitized in July and the pump has been used on a fairly regular basis on this trip. Not sure where the rusty water would have come from. There is water in the tank and it is clear.

I have same rv
I wanted to replace my pump with a quieter one
First time I tried I gave up
Second time I gave it an honest effort
What a PAIN IN THE A$$!
I just left it alone and hope i don't have to replace it

Kinda what I thought when I saw it tucked in that narrow gap between tanks, as I recall.

Was that on a 2004 Dolphin? I kind of wondered what I was facing!

Dolphin 2006 5342
Yes it can be done
I just didn't want to go through the hassle
Maybe I had a master plumber with small hands and everything is super tight
I had a winnebago and the pump had a filter screen on the output.
Cleaned it in a couple minutes and replaced the pump with a whisper king pump in less than 5 minutes

Not sure about the rusty water. The pump is mounted upright and maybe a diaphragm leaked into the motor and it got rusty
You would think it would trip the breaker
Just asking but have you tried the other switch in the bathroom?
Or the switch on the outside panel where the plumbing is?
There may be inline fuses behind your control panel or a loose wire
I don't know, just thinking out loud for you.

Having to much fun to even look at it! Watched 150 elk today including big bull fights and bugling. Will probably wait until I get home in a couple weeks. Thanks for asking though!
