Water Pump Pumps Air

Just got back from an overnighter in our 2002 Sea Breeze Scout. While hooked up to city water we noticed a steady drip of water from behind the water utility panel while set for city water or running the pump. So we filled the fresh water tank and decided to get by with running the pump as needed until we could deal with the problem later. Before long, all we got from the pump was air and no water. To confuse matters more, when we switched back to city water, no leaks from behind the panel! We pulled the water utility panel and found no leaks. Discussions here suggest we start by finding and cleaning the screens on the city water fill line and on the pump itself. We’re wondering if these are likely solutions to the air-in-the-water-lines problem and if there is anything else we should check while behind the panel.

I have seen pumps get air bubble in them but not that often, your hose could been a little loose at the connection on the side and running inside if you have access to behind the CW fitting then make sure it's tight and check fittings at the pump loose fitting on the suction side coming from the tank will draw air in also

If you have a valve for city water or tank fill like my Tradewinds has, you may have to put the valve back to city water to get the pump working properly. That is how mine works.
