What is the AUX switch?

2006 5342 Dolphin
It has Grover air horns
I can't find any kind of air compressor.
The switch has wires on all terminals and lights up when turned on but nothing appears to happen.
Could they have installed the air horns but not compressor?
Or what else could the switch be for?

Is it possible that the switch selects the Grover horns on and off? I have seen folks install a switch so that the louder horn is used while on the highway and not in town.

Not faniliar with your coach, but I believe that is the switch for auxiliary battery power to the starter. Pushing the switch will connect the house batteries to the chassis battery if voltage is needed to start the engine.

On my 02 Dolphin there was nothing connected to either aux switch. Could use for whatever I wanted. Have found uses for both.

I tried leaving the switch on and using the regular horn button but nothing happens other than the standard horn working.

The "emergency boost" switch is for connecting all batteries

Weird thing is there are wires connected to the switch but it would be difficult to try and trace them

Seem to recall having a un-used AUX switch on my 2000 Dolphin dash as well.

The AUX switch is for dealer installed items or addon's . Horns are electric not air.
For 2006 the horns were listed as CHROME ELECTRIC HORNS.

I have never been able to get mine to work. But the only time I blew the horn was when I was trying to get them to work.

My AUX switch was not connected to anything(05 and 08 Dolphins) from the factory but did light when turn on. I found the un-used 12 volt pin on the switch and connected a pair or under dash 12v. sockets that I used to power my Garmin GPS and external Sirius radio's and switch them on/off.

My roof horns look like air but are electric and both did stop working. I dis-assembled and found them very dirty with rode dirt and dead bugs. They needed to be cleaned.

IF yours are Air horns they may have been added later and there may not be

any info available on the compressor and it's power source.

Not sure if you solved your issue but on my 2004, I had this after market toggle switch on the dash, couldn't figure out what it was for. After several days I was able to locate the original owner and asked him. He told me hit the horn, ok I hit the horn and the horn sounded normal, told me to move the switch and hit the horn and when I did, those LOUD air horns on the roof blew. The air compressor and tank is located underneath the drivers side.

Have a good day

Not air horns, electric that look like air horns. Auxiliary switch is just that. Some had optional 300 watt inverter to power the entertainment center connected to switch. Normally the roof horns stop working because they get plugged with bugs and dirt.
