Windshield Molding for 1999 Tropical

The windscreen molding on my 99 Tropical (probably the same for Dolphin and what not) is getting pretty old and tired. This is what holds the 2 piece windscreen in place. Anyone have any insight as to whether this is a generic part or custom sourced?

Hi sirpurrcival,
I have a 97 Dolphin and my molding is getting bad . My brother told me that the molding is a standard type. I am have a problem with one window moving on me. I am going to have my molding replaced this spring .

I had contacted a couple of glass places and neither had responded to my inquiry prior to posting here. As murphy's law would suggest, I got a response from one not long after I posted here. They told me that they can get it but they are going to send a technician by first to check it out. I came close to loosing the whole windscreen in the face of hellascious
winds just a few weeks ago. Ended up having to have it glue in place just to make it home. However, I figure I came close to have my first Class A convertible or at the very least pioneering a new RV Cleaning technique. I'll post on what it costs me so you can comparison shop.

I had my figure eight gasket replaced a while back and the guy didn't comment about getting the gasket. Here is a copy of the quote for referance.

The quote for your windshield

1999 National Trade Winds Motorhome

Right Windshield and Gasket

Glass : 429.00

Gasket : 225.00

Crate Charge : 75.00

Freight Charge : 95.00

Installation of right windshield 175.00

Removal and installation of left windshield and gasket 175.00

Total 1174.00

Tax 80.41

Grand Total : 1254.41

The glass takes about a week for delivery.

I can not be held responsible if the drivers side gets broken during removal and installation but rest assured we have not broken one in several years.

We offer a life time guaranty against leaks or defects in workmanship.

I would need 1/2 down to order the glass = 627.20.

We accept Master Card, Visa, and Discover.

Thanks for that, it is good to have a ball park figure although up here in Canada, you never can tell whether the same part is going to cost similar or way more.
