Windshield Wipers Not Working

I've read the numerous threads about the intermittent problems associated with the wipers coming on and off when they want to. My problems is that the just stopped working.

I've attempted some of the solutions offered like- I propped a hair dryer on the wiper motor and thoroughly dried it out and the connectors; I've inspected the ground wires to insure they appear properly attached; I've inspected the dash switch to insure proper connections.

The most peculiar thing is that the fuse (found in the access panel just to the left and below the driver's seat) is good and passed a continuity test. But when I use a test light to see if the fuse slots for the blades has power, the test lamp doesn't light up with the ignition on.

I also pulled the dash harness off and tested each connection hole assuming one or two of these should light up too if the ignition switch is on, but none of these light up either.

To test my test light, I inserted the probe into other fuse holes and it lit up. One more weird thing was that I checked the fuse marked "radio" and pulled the fuse and the radio still worked. This makes me wonder if there is another panel I'm not seeing someplace.

Sorry for the lengthy thread but I'm at a loss as to where to go from here, other than Arizona where it doesn't rain....

thanks in advance for reading this..

Sounds like you are pretty good at trouble shooting. What year is your National Tradewinds and what chassis?

Is it possible that the "radio" fuse you pulled is for the radio memory, and not the one to power it on?

Regarding My Windshield Wipers Not Working

I forgot to tell everyone I've got a 1999 Tradewinds 7370 with the Cat rear engine on a Freightliner frame.

I pulled the wiper motor and the brushes looked worn. I decided to replace the motor. Did the install and the wipers still don't work.

Any suggestions out there????

don't know if this will work but: I have had problems for years with my workhorse chassis national rv wipers. Latest try was running a separate ground from chassis to wiper motor. The wipers (so far) work better that they have for years.
