This may have been discussed before but I am going to share it again. I have had three instances now where driving in rain will cause the windshield wiper motor go take charge and go into the full ON mode and the only way you can stop it is to shut off the engine or pull the fuse. The bad thing about this is that when the rain stops you don't want to let the blades run dry any longer than you have to. If you are on the freeway it can be tough to find a place to stop.
The culprit here turns out to be the connector that connects the chassis wiring to the wiper motor assembly installed by NRV. Last year, I thought I had solved this issue by wrapping the connector in plastic and tie wraps. However, it occurred again on this trip and luckily I was able to get off the freeway and into a W-Mart.
When I crawled up in the front I found the whole thing was full of water again. I dried it out and re-did the whole thing. When I get stopped for awhile, I intend to seal the whole mess up with RTV. The alternative would be to remove the connector and solder the wires together and then seal them with RTV and shrink tubing. This problem occurs because the rain water is carried up into the area and the wind speed really concentrates it around that connector
