Have been considering replacing the old 27" RCA TV in the Dolphin (though it still works great) because I don't like all that weight being up high, and I don't even want to think about where it would end up in an accident. I saw some threads that said it weighed 75 lbs, and another said 100 lbs. I weighed an old TV of similar size and vintage that I have in my spare bedroom and it was 47 lbs, so I figured this boat anchor couldn't be more than 50 lbs. Boy was I wrong! Here's an old Amazon listing for what looks to be the same one as our Dolphin's TV. The weight shown for it is 127 lbs!!

Yeah. It took the 2 of us to get the 85lb hulk out of our prior Bounder. We replaced it with a larger Vizio that weighed only about 14 lbs.

I remember reading here on this forum about one that fell and broke the wife’s leg in the passenger seat. So yes...be careful! And good riddance!! We took ours down , filled in the hole by matching the cabinets on the sides and bought a 43” Roku 4K TV which fits perfectly on the dash when we’re parked and next to the bed in its box when traveling. WAAAAY nicer to watch! [emoji41]

I removed mine about 6 years ago, by myself! Then I was in pretty good shape, 6ft 3in 250 lbs.......but I could never do it today! So, get some help.

I replaced it with a flat panel 26 in, weighs about 15 lbs, mounted to a swing out mount, on the wall just behind the passenger seat and ahead of the swivel chair and fold-down table. Great decision. Rook

And they use a lot less electricity. Both of mine use less than 30 watts.

After replacing the RCA the ride as measured by my butt in the driver's seat was MUCH better. Its like the shocks got a second life!

Not in a RV, I had a 36" tube TV. Had to be way way north of 100lbs. Took two men and a boy to move that sucker...

Replaced ours with a 40inch Sharp . Big improvement in viewing quality but the best thing is the insatiable rattling and squeaking is gone .

Yeah, I'm looking for a replacement TV now, though all brands seem to be close to the same dimensions these days. 32" is a little small height wise and 40" is a little too wide. Will probably go with a 32" and a sound bar to fill the gap. Sound bar is probably needed anyway as it seems front mounted speakers on TVs are a thing of the past.

Not sure how to get that old TV out of there. DW is 5'0 and only 96 lbs. She might have to hire a helper, lol.

I believe that I removed the center bolts first, then one front bolt, then removed other front bolt while holding the TV back and up, now it needs to swing down and the TV lifted up over a stop and worked down.

Thanks for your response, Richard. I actually removed that post-- while you were typing your answer apparently-- as I found an old thread with some good directions. They were much like what you said. Apparently I should just loosen the rear bolts slightly and carefully swing the tray down on them once I remove the other bolts, then I can supposedly (with three men and a boy, lol) lift the TV off the tray.

Getting someone to help in these pandemic times might be a trick, but that's a separate issue.

I want an LED tv with front facings speakers--32 inch---Geez- hard to find

I've been looking too and haven't found any. I think we might have to settle for a sound bar. Most 32" LED TVs are ~17" tall and our opening is 20-5/16", so there's room for a 3-1/2" tall sound bar. No problem finding that. Otherwise, you can make a filler out of speaker foam and possibly run the audio through existing external speakers. Mine has a center speaker mounted right under the TV so I might use that.
