Xantrex pannel lifeless

We have a 2008 Pacifica equipped with a Xantrex 458 inverter. Last night the remote control panel was going bonkers.

The DC volts display was was flashing erratically, as was the battery state and ac in, was also blinking/flashing.
I unplugged the communication cable.."phone jack cable" for a minute, but when i plugged it back in the whole remote went dark, nothing lights up.

We are plugged into shore power so the batteries are still charging, and everything works in the Coach.

The inverter appears to be operating, the charge gel-1 indicator is lit, and 25A fuse did not pop out for reset

I am thinking the remote need replacing, is there a way to verify that before spending 100.00 bucks on a new one?

We do have a Klein MM1000 tool available, but i am not able to operate it, without guidance.

Thank you for any help in this matter. Dave

Thanks Chuck, that was my deduction also...but i am so weary about replacing parts to find the issues...i have paid good money to RV techs only to have the fix..."fixed" again later.

Yes i will be interested, but it seems i have other issues, our transfer switch is not working..i dunno if that is an issue with the remote inverter box or not.

We have a progressive industries EMS, hard wired.

But only 12V is on when the genny is working, and it wont leave low idle.

I can not seem to locate the transfer switch in my Pacifica, is it possible i dont have one?

I was surprised our 08 Dolphin had no transfer switch as most earlier National RV's did have them. Before ordering part, a suggestion with the Xantrex 458 inverter is to try "Re-booting" it, that is remove all power, briefly disconnect shore power, coach and chassis batteries, wait a minute, then re-connect them.
This worked for me when the Xantrex 458 inverter seemed to malfunction for some unknown reason.

Got the new Xantrex remote panel today, flipped off the shore power, plugged in the new remote panel, turned on the shore 50 amp.....and nothing. The readout is all dark.

So obviously there is another issue..maybe the circuit board on the Inverter is gone bad.

I am so frustrated.

Sorry about your luck but I did it backwards (new inverter) then control. I think both were actually bad but start with the less expensive. I have replaced my Xantrex 458 2 times. PPL has them less than anybody else I have found. How is condition of house batterys? If they are down or bad there is nothing to invert. Check for 120 volt in and out of inverter with control panel unplugged if it does not pass through it is bad.

I will do that and repeat back, sounds simple enuff even for me. I did unplug today and manually turn on the "invert" button on the inverter.

Everything in the coach that runs off the inverter including the Microwave, functioned....the led battery monitor showed the batteries at 13.4 volts on the coach....and it shows them at 14.3 when plugged into shore power, they are gel type. i feel that the circuit board is bad where it interfaces with the remote panel.
