1993 Tiffin Allegro Bay DP

Picking up a 1993 tiffin allegro bay 36ft 240 Cummins DP. Monday October 14th 2019. 4sp Allison. Oshkosh chassis. Any previous owners with knowledge of those units please throw in your two cents. I currently own a fifth wheel this class A purchase is just a fondness for class A's and I think that era coach were built decent, that said it's usable as it sits I will use it locally in Wisconsin for now and in my spare time restore it close to it's original beauty.

Had a 95 275 HP ISB. Well built coach. The electric fuel lift pumps are known to fail. If it starts right up after glow plug light goes out and drives good. And isn't making exhaust smoke should be okay.
If tires been setting and dates over 10 years, replace them.
Those older coaches really look neat with new paint jobs.
I installed laminate floor and recovered the cloth furniture.

I was told there isn't a glow plug. The current owner said he keeps his foot on the fuel peddle to start it. After I test drove it, I turned it on and off three times without using the pedal.
Runs very well no smoke he said it does not use burn oil between oil changes.
Tires were all replaced, I will eventually replace with better quality tires. He mentioned a part that's needed for the generator until I get that he said it can be funny to start at times but all fluids and filters were changed and plugs wires on the propane gen we're done.

Holding the throttle pedal partially down on a mechanical injected, or electronic for that mater, diesel is not doing anything.

Just turn the key to start, after the wait to start light goes out, if equipped.

Cummins uses intake air heaters to preheat the air before going into the cylinders. It helps keep the cold diesel smoke down.
