We are looking at a 2007 35' Allegro Bay with low miles and looks really nice. Is there any thing we should look for when we check it out. Also any up or down opinions.

If it has the Chevy 8.1 ltr engine you need to be aware that the engine is no long being made, but if it has a Allison Transmission it is worth considering. You should be able to get a better price on it, if the engine isn't being made anymore. Check all the systems out and if you like it make a offer. Dave

It has the 300hp Cummings Looks like it is a 2008. Found it in the Tiffin past Specs

This is complete hog wash, just because the engine is not being made does not mean you'll get a better price, plenty of spare parts out there for the 8.1, also rebuild kits and rebuilt motors are plentiful

I would like to know where you got your info on a better price because the engine is not made anymore.

That's a good example of "Forum-Speak" in that you really cannot tell "opinion" from "expertly derived fact". I would prefer that an opinionator qualify his statement with the "take-it-for-what -it's worth, my opinion..."

The Cummins engine with 6 speed Allison was an available option on the Allegro Bay series for 2 or 3 years, a solid combination, gives good mileage and reasonable performance, although a bit noisy.
You will want to check the roof rails for cracks, and verify that the brake caliper recall has been taken care of. As with any used rig the more you can find out about the units service history will be to your benefit.
We had a 37 ft. Bay on the Freightliner/Cummins combo and averaged about 9.8 mpg over 30,000 miles.

Is it a FRED chassis? The J72 autopark brake would be a concern. I have intimate knowledge on this issue. Love our Allegro Bay.

We love our 2006 Allegro Bay 37DB and have been very pleased with the quality. It has the Chevy 8.1 and Allison 6 speed. Had 21000 miles when we bought it in 2014 and now it has 36000 miles.

We have been cross country (over 2 months) and on several extended trips. We've been in it now on a trip for over two weeks and it is very comfortable for two people.

Check the tire dates and condition. If they are over 7 years old they should be replaced. This could easily be $3000. Tire age can be a bargaining point.
