If you have a leak and the freon is low the clutch will never engage. Can you unplug the clutch and test it with a test light to be sure it is receiving the signal from the switch? Engine does not need to be running just ignition on dash fan on and ac engaged. Check both on and off to confirm. With engine off you will keep your hands and fingers!

No signal. Figure probably a fuse somewhere.

Everything was fine; then one of coach batteries shorted out. Took out the Large DC fuse. Then Dash A/C quit. Figured fuse blown, but no idea where it could be!

Most of the electrical things in the front of the coach are controlled from the electrical bay under the driver's seat. Other spot to look is behind the drawers in the center of the dash area. Tiffin is very good about putting a legend in with the fuses/circuit breakers so you can figure out which fuse protects which circuit. You can always call Tiffin Service and get their advice where to look for the fuse.

What about if he is low on freon? Will this test work? I worked on a car last year and the compressor was not running due to being low. All I did was connect a can of 134a to the low side and the compressor engaged immediately so I could fill it.

Had the same problem on 2011 bus. The relay to the compressor was bad. The relay is about a 1" cube and was mounted on the cross tube to the rear of the motor. Costs only a few dollars.
