2011 Allegro Breeze, front AC not working.

Brother just bought a 2011 Allegro Breeze 28 and for a few days it is at my house in NC. When we picked it up in Charleston everything was working. Drove it 5 hours to my house and used the generator to run the front AC to bring temps down. All worked as far as we knew. I am running through all systems now and find the front AC is not working. No fan or anything. Back AC is working. This is using the generator to test since I do not have plug in. I found a tripped breaker for the front AC but I reset it and still no joy. Anyone know if there are other breakers for this. Wonder why the breaker tripped?

I just did some more looking around and testing. With generator running if I switch on and off the fan I can hear the generator changing speed. It appears to be sensing the load of the fan, but the fan is not running or not putting put air. Maybe it is froze up or a tree limb got stuck in it. Guess I will have to climb up there and look around.

Just did a climb and the motor I can see spins freely. That motor is probably for cooling the coils and there is another internal one that provides the inside air. Need to pull cover off.

Any other thoughts?

Took the outside cover off and inspected. Looks like the fan I see is also the fan for internal air. It spins freely but does not run. I need to start taking loose the covers and trace wires.

At this point it comes down to one question: should the fan run if it is low on freon? Only had this unit 30 days and it could have a leak. But that tripped breaker concerns me.

if it was bought from a rv dealer, you should contact them. might be a good idea to contact a rv tech, before you start working on it and change somethings that might not be part of the problem. Dave

It could be something as simple as a start capacitor or a locked up compressor. When you turn the AC on, does it make a buzzing sound or try to start? Have you tried the interior fan by turning the switch to on instead of auto? When you pull the cover off check to see it it's actually getting power. The unit will have two to three capacitors inside; one each for the compressor, condenser (outside) fan and evaporator (inside) fan. From your description the inside and outside fans may be on one motor. It may also have another "hard start" capacitor on the compressor if someone had problems with it starting and installed one.

Fixed!

Thanks everyone. It is fixed. Darned starting capacitor for the circulation fan. (Lt. Dan got it) Lost a little time when the breaker on the generator tripped and I didn't know it and was testing without power. Bought a new capacitor locally and all is good. Thanks for all of your help.
