2011 Headlight Upgrade???

I have a 2011 Phaeton 36QSH. We love the coach, but the headlights are pathetic. What have others done to get adequate light to drive at night? The lenses are not foggy, they just put out substantially less light than my toad’s lights.

I am assuming you already checked the aiming. Consider that many light bulbs lose brightness as they age. You might be surprised if you get some replacements with a white color. You have to be careful with lighting upgrades because there is a limit to the power allowed by law in most places. Having said this you can get an off-road rated set of bulbs which has a more powerful high beam. Please do not increase the low beam. I would stick with the halogen types please do not get LED because the reflector and lens of your light fixtures was made for a single filament and putting an LED bulb in it will result in painfully bright light going where it will annoy others but often not where you need it. I replaced the one in my toad with ones that had 20w more on the highs and it made a big difference particularly off road. These are not road legal but hard to spot.

The same goes for "driving" lights. You need to be real careful where you aim them and they are obvious invitation to a ticket in some places. Best to tie them i with the highs only in your case.
