2011 Phaeton 40qkh -- Is 65psi too much for water pump?

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 2011 Phaeton and it's in great shape for its age but I'm trying to update things where appropriate. The previous owner left me a brand new Remco Aquajet 65psi water pump and I'm considering installing it.

Question: Is 65psi too much?

I don't want to create water issues where I don't currently have any.

Thanks,
Daniel

PEX is rated for":
200°F at 80 psi
180°F at 100 psi
74°F at 160 psi

None of which you would achieve with a 65psi rated pump
*65 psi is pressure pump shuts off at

Not a problem. Tiffin pressure tests to 110psi.

You might need more amps than the existing pump.

However, it’s usually the connections which leak or can’t take the pressure, not the pex.

Water line to ice maker, washer, etc are also not pex and could be more sensitive to higher pressures.

I would go ahead and install it, then check the pressure with a gage. You might find that it doesn't pump the 65psi that it has on the label.
I've played around with the pumps that have 55psi on the labels and haven't found one yet that pumps the 55psi of pressure that is stated on the label. I'm not saying they can't pump that much pressure, they just don't seem to be set that high.
If it does pump that much pressure, you can probably turn the shut off pressure down some to a more comfortable level.
