2011 QXP Allegro Bus - Wire chase location?

Hi all,

I am going to mount a old style Winegard crank up antenna on the roof to affix a wifi antenna.

I have to drill a 1.75" diameter hold through the roof and I do not want to drill through the wire chase. I will be mounting the antenna just behind the drivers seat and drilling into the small space above the electrical readout/Aqua Hot switch area.

My question is "How far from the external wall surface is the wire chase and and how wide is it?" If I know those dimensions, I can drill through safely and miss the wire chase.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

heathtx

Contact Tiffin Engineering. When my 2013 Bus was built I was going to install a 1 meter Hughes Net antenna and needed to know exactly where the chases were. Unfortunately, mine were not straight. They took a couple of jogs. I got a copy of the roof plan from Engineering and also took pictures during roof construction.

This may help from Ted "Crusingator's" file on a 2010 Bus roof structure.

Thanks for both pieces of advice.

An engineer at Tiffin sent me part of a CAD drawing that matches the dimensions from Ted. The roof area over the driver seat above the power/inverter/tank gauge cabinet is free of wires. I drill tomorrow.

I'm taking a Winegard Sensor OTA and modifying it to mount a 24" omnidirectional wifi antenna to the tilting mechanism. That way we will have a good, tall wifi antenna that we can lay horizontally before we travel.

Will post pics in the Modification post.
