2014 Allegro Red engine hood supports

I have used epoxy from Tiffin parts to affix the struts to the engine hood but they keep coming off. Any suggestions on how to affix the struts better?

First off, Welcome to IRV2!

On ours, I epoxied the block back in place then added a couple of screws from the side into the block to double the hold. There is a tremendous amount of lateral force on the blocks because of the strength of the strut required to hold the door up.

I would use West Systems epoxy, and use their technical support to do it right.

I suspect the surface was not prepared right to increase adhesion. Also, strength would increase by using fillets and possibly fiberglass tabs.

The fiberglass boat repair & maintenance book has these techniques described in detail.
