2016 35QBA Water Pump Problem
Our new coach has a problem and I hope someone can help. The water pump will not turn on. All fuses have been checked. We have only been on one trip and it worked fine. Unfortunately, Tiffin Service is closed on weekends. Any ideas?

Are you hooked up to city water or is your tank full of water? Pump only works if water tank has water in it. Dave

Yes, plenty of water in tank. Do you know where the fuse for the water pump is? It is not marked on the panel outside the bathroom.

I have a 2013 which is probably different but it is #5 breaker. I would think if the 12 volt breaker was tripped it would be popped out. See if any of those breakers are popped out. If not got to the pump and check the wiring. Mine are wire nutted at the pump which can vibrate loose. Check the positive side and the ground side.

Is there a valve behind the pump that could be turned off? This is only if the pump was working correctly previously.
We have several fill options and if the switch to fill the water tank is turned in the fill position the pump does not work. Not sure if Tiffins are the same.

The pump will work with 12 volts provided externally with a battery charger. There is no power coming from within the coach. All fuses are in. On the dc panel all lights are green.

Yes, water pump light is on on the switch. Everything seems to work, except the pump. Hopefully, tomorrow Tiffin will have an answer.

Check the connections at the pump and make sure a wire is not loose

The fact that the water pump works when connected to an external power source, rules out the pump as the problem. Should have power if the light is on. I'd put a voltmeter on the positive wire at the pump, negative probe on frame, to see if the 12v is on the wire as it's supposed to be. If it is, probably a bad ground wire which you should be able to verify with the resistance scale on the meter.
I've never had to get into that circuitry, but I think there is a relay that controls the pump....if I recall correctly reading in a forum before.

Finally got in touch with a Tiffin electrical technician. There is a 15 dc fuse in the battery compartment in the stairwell. The fuse was indeed blown. As far as I know it is the only one for the water pump. Tiffin said it was fuse #19 on the dc fuse panel inside the coach near the bathroom. The fuse inside was not pushed out and it is not marked on the panel. I wish Tiffin would have marked the panel or at least have it in the manual as to where the 15 dc fuse is. Thanks everyone for you help and suggestions. This is a learning curve for us.

Rodney, that is a big mystery! I can't understand why they would put a fuse to the water pump in a wire bundle in the battery house. Never would of found it if we hadn't called Tiffin.
