2016 Tiffin Phaeton 44OH Entry Door

So I was wondering if this is the norm when opening the entry door or is something missing but when I open my door it a hard, noisy opening all the way or if it doesn't lock open it ends up closing on you. Am I missing something to make the door less noisy when I open it, like a piston or something like the basement doors have? Perhaps something is broken that I can replace, I see that a soft opening could be built in where the mechanism attaches to the top of the coach frame that I circles in red on the picture. Or is that the way Tiffin designed these coaches to open and close? My Forza and GT had soft opening doors and were only somewhat noisy when I closed them at 2AM when the dog got an epiphany and I had to walk him.

Have the same setup. There is no piston like for the basement doors. Mine will not close if it’s not locked open unless the coach isn’t level. The noise may be coming from the hinges. I routinely spray mine with silicone lube. If after spraying the door still makes noise, then your door may have been caught by the wind at sometime either bending the arms on top or the hinge brackets. Only real noise my door makes is the locking unlocking handle when opening.
