2017 Tiffin Breeze ISV5.0
I purchased a used 2017 in 2018 with the 275 engine. For a while it was running fine. There was a Cummins recall - had it fixed; then a DEF unit recall had it fixed - then in 2020, the MH wouldn"t start - had to have it towed to a shop; $3,500.00 later diagnosed with corroded wire to the ECM - used it twice after - then the motor for the steps had to be replaced - most recently left an RV park - check engine light then MIL light - wouldn't go above 5 MPH - luckily I was on a local road - towed to North Trail RV - couldn't fix it - had to have it towed to Cummins in Fort Myers - last I was told the engine had gauges and wires hooked up with no diagnosis. Right now a very disgruntled owner - has anyone had a similar experience with this model engine or motor home.

2015 Owner
I've got a 2015 which has a different engine (also a problem). You don't mention Tiffin in your post. I know the engine is warrantied by Cummins, not Tiffin, but the Coach is a Tiffin. If you can't get help from North Trail or the Cummins guys, get Tiffin involved. Even though you're not the original purchaser they should support you. If you don't get anywhere, ask for Bob Tiffin

Thanks for the feedback - I will give Cummins their shot at the repair before I proceed to call Tiffin

We too have a 2017 32br but haven't had your share of problems. Step motors seem to be a common weak point for many RVs not just Tiffins. We had a DEF level sensor fail and was replaced under warranty by Tiffin.
And we did have a MIL light on the way to north GA come on followed shortly thereafter by the dreaded Check Engine. We pulled over and called Tiffin and they walked us through accessing the error code (fuel injector) and said we probably had about 20 miles before it went into limp mode. They helped us find a nearby Freightliner service facility which also services Cummins and we made it there at a normal speed.
There were not going to be able to get to us that day so we drove to a nearby campground for the night. The check engine light went out although the MIL stayed one as we drove back at the service facility the next day (Friday). They told us then that if they needed a part that it would be the following week before they could repair it. And they then admitted they had no experience with that particular motor and that the MIL indicator may go off on its own now that the other light has gone out.
So we left and before getting out of their parking lot, the other light cleared so we finished our vacation. I do plan on having a spare injector before we head out again.

Did you check your DEF system level (diesel exhaust fuel) ? If the DEF tank gets below a certain level it creates all kinds of bells and whistle’s to go off on the dashboard

The repair was covered under Cummins Warranty - 5 year 100,000 mile - the outside grab bar was $21 via Tiffin and 4 anchors at $0.16 a piece at Ace Hardware

Well back in the shop - MIL indicator - could be a DEF related issue - I've had more warning lights on my coach than a Christmas tree. I do not drink Tiffin Kool Aid by the way. Nor do I point a finger. All I can say is with the amount of complaints I read on this and other forums with ALL brands I really am second guessing myself with this purchase.

Stay with it to define the root cause. All machines can be made better if not perfect. Good luck with the effort. Keys - the right shop, improve rather than fix, and communicate for the growth of the collective knowledge inventory.
