2021 V8 Open Road discount?
Hi all, Noob here. I’m looking at a new Open Road with the v8 chassis. Dealer lists it for $208K And has discounted it to $175K in my hands. Considering the current state of things, what are you’all seeing out there for discounts? Thinking of countering with $155K.
TIA. I recently registered, but I’ve been trolling for a while during my quest for this new home. It’s been very valuable.
Thanks,
-Jim

Go for it. 175K is certainly just a starting point for negotiation, although I'm sure that he's figuring someone will pay a premium for the V8. But nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I think that comes out to be around a little less than 16% off MSRP? Not great by any means.
Dealers near RB normally offer 24-28%, depending on the model.
If you are a long ways from the big three dealers and don’t want to drive out there , you might start with 28% off and see where that goes.

In normal times I wouldn't give over 154k for the coach. The demand is up so I'm not sure how that has changed the discounts. If I'm being honest, I couldn't get myself to buy a new coach but that is just me. Good luck with your search.

Pulled the trigger.
Didn’t get quite what I wanted, but a lot closer, 22.5% off. Curiously a (more) local dealer had a comparably equipped 2021 w/v10 for $1K more than the v8 which has a $5.5K up charge. Huh?
Many thanks to all that replied.

The V-8 is a $5582.50 option charge. The MSRP base price for a 34-PA has about a $2050 increase over price lists from earlier this year.
( as from a listing on Eugene, Or. dealer site )

I know this is a little late but did you get a price list from Tiffin. It has their msrp plus options listed. Just to keep the dealer honest, some have been known to make up their own price lists

Which model was this? My wife and I are starting our search for our next coach, and it would be nice to know what we need to budget. Thanks.

Thanks for the price list. My wife and I have been talking about our next motorhome. This will help in our discussions.

Thanks. Unfortunately it doesn't mention anything regarding the V8. Maybe it's really just early 2020 V10 pricing. Seems awfully early to be releasing 2021 MY pricing anyway.

garykk has the answer to the question to this question... up above..
i ordered and bought a v10 based on the price list that is printed above.
i picked it up from one of the big 3 a few weeks back...
the question becomes how far are you willing to go... to save 5% on a 200,000 coach. that is about 10000. i went 400 miles and had a hotel stay the night before i showed up... the closest dealer is about 100 miles from me... so... i had gas for 300 miles times 2 plus a hotel stay... and a few meals more than someone who bought from a dealer in their hometown...
as stated, i don't have a dealer that is in my hometown... the two closest dealers do not want to sell coaches at the price that the big 3 will... so 10,000 vs. 600 miles, a few meals, and a hotel... call it 500$ so i saved 9500... two of the big 3 have no "extra fees" i can't speak for the third...
in other words, no doc. fees. no prep. fees. no transportation fees. no pdi fees. no nothing, but sales price plus taxes in your home state... and they don't even collect the taxes... you do that when you get home...
so, if the big 3 dealer says 150,800 pm a 208,000 coach.. that is what your check will be for... and the two i have used have excellent PDI and invite you stay on their lot for a day or 2 or 3 as you get acclimated to your coach.
if i had a huge inheritance, or won the lottery, had bought amazon or coke or ibm at the beginning or however my accounts were filled... that 10,000 may not be worth it... but to me it was...
enjoy!

Call Tiffin directly, ask them to send you an updated price sheet. They are very helpful when you call, I called twice prior to my purchase and both times got a person on the phone (not an answering machine).
