3 broken windshields in 15 months
I have a 2014 Breeze 32BR. I had this coach for 15 months and have had three windshields crack and soon will need a fourth put in. The first one was hit by a rock and cracked from the bottom up to about four inches and over the next several days did a big “O” shape about 24” in diameter and the continued up to the top. The second windshield we were on a trip from Florida to California and back. At about 600 miles into the trip, it cracked on the inside from top to bottom. There was nothing in front of us and we were on a smooth road, we could find no chips on the outside when we checked. We continued on the trip with no other problems.
Two weeks ago, we had that windshield replaced by a RV glass dealer in Lakeland Florida. They replaced the windshield at no charge because they and I believed there might have been an install problem.
We spent two nights at their facility to let the adhesive set-up and then went to a Breeze rally in St. Augustine Beach. On the way home with 14 miles to go, the windshield once again cracked from bottom to top and once again on the inside. This time I have it recorded on my dash cam. Three loud pops and the crack appears. Reviewing the recording there were no cars or trucks near us, no rocks or other objects hit the windshield.
I talked to the glass dealer about it, and they asked me to wait while they researched it. Several days later they called me back. They said that SOME 2014/15 Breezes had an issue with the front cap flexing to the point of breaking windshields. This information came from someone who does or had worked at Lazy Days and another tech who had worked at Tiffin at one time.
I have not had time to call Tiffin since I got this answer on Friday.
Does anyone know if this is true or not? And if true how to go about fixing the flexing issue.

I have heard of Tiffins with glued in windshields having them crack do to flexing of the coach as they are structural once glued in. That said, I do not have first hand knowledge, so it could be anecdotal. Sorry that is happening to you, not sure how that could be fixed, but I would call Bob Tiffin as soon as possible to see if he can help. -Bill
PS. I would also lower my windshield deductible... (comprehensive coverage)

I did contact the previous owner and he said he had no windshield problems.

Do you know the brand of the replacement windshields or a part number(s) for them? Perhaps the replacement glass is slightly oversize or shaped incorrectly and the glass is getting stressed after it's settled into place.
I would also be looking for a problem in the house to frame mounting which could allow the front cap to twist slightly and stress the glass.
It is interesting though the first broken windshield was obviously damaged by a rock and the rest have simply broken on their own and there is no history of windshields cracking on their own.

You are either getting body flex or there is something embedded within the window seal that is contacting the window and causing the crack. Windows don’t typically spontaneously crack. Something must be causing it. Body flex is one, but I would think you would notice that, especially since it’s the 3rd window.
My opinion is something is embedded along the window seal making contact with the windshield and causing the crack. It could be a screw or piece of metal in the window track. Enough bumps and it cracks.

As you note the previous owner had NO issues, I would conclude the problem started after the 1st replacement windshield and each subsequent one. Yes call Tifffin but I suspect that the replacements are oversized or the glass defective,
Do you know the glass manufacturer, and were each replacement the same company? If So try another source pending info from Tiffin

Call Dave Hester at 1st Class Glass in Red Bay. He is/was in charge of the glass department in Tiffin and has his own glass shop next door to the Tiffin Service Center. (I am scheduled for a replacement in April.)
He is very nice and helpful and may be able to provide more insight than a call to Tiffin service.

Tiffin beds the windshields in a heavy layer of silicone to absorb some flex. I suspect the replacements have not been bedded correctly causing them to contact the fiberglass.
