35QBA entertainment system

Just picked up my "new" 2010 35QBA- LOVE IT! Thanks to everyone who helped me out on my "tiffin newbie" post before I picked it up.

From what I understand the original stationary winegard roadtrip sd will not work with dish anymore ( any one got any info on that?) but am trying to hook up a dish tailgater I had in my bounder. There is a 5 wire component connection in the area above the passenger seat and component inputs to each of the two tvs (main room on rear wall and bedroom). cant get input to the tvs via the component wires. Tried to hook my receiver to them via the components wires in area above passenger but no input detected. tried a dvd player with component out put but no signal. If I hook it directly to tvs it works fine.

My question is am I missing some secret connection or something? I am pretty good with these things usually but this baffles me. Unless the wiring connection is broke some place. Anyone have any experience with this? Think I have a work around, there is Panasonic dvd surround system hooked to the HDMI connection to the tvs and think I can us an A-B switch to connect into that. Havent tried it yet but should work but would like to have it work on component if possible.

Any info or thoughts would be appreciated

Dave

If the receiver you have has HDMI output I would use the HDMI that feeds the TVs from the BluRay player. The quality using HDMI is much better. I have a 2013 QBA and I put my 211K receiver over the passenger seat. The A/B switch for the satellite is over the driver seat so I had to fish a piece of coax from the A/B switch over to the passenger side. To feed the HDMI splitter I have a double female HDMI connector. If I want to watch BluRay I feed the splitter by connecting the HDMI from the BluRay to the HDMI in on the splitter. When I want to watch DISH I unhook the HDMI from the BluRay at the double female connector and plug the HDMI from the Dish receiver to the double connector.
You can purchase a HDMI A/B switch but I rarely watch the BluRay so I couldn't see adding another piece of equipment that degrades the signal and can fail.
Up in the cabinet over the passenger seat there is a 120 volt outlet that is fed by the inverter that the splitters are plugged into. That is where I plugged in the receiver. When I fished the coax over from one side to the other I left a tag line in so next time it would be easier. I removed the 5 color component cable and splitter. When you go up in that overhead you won't believe the rats nest of wires you are going to find.

Yea that's my work around. Liked the idea of using the component cables as it would let us watch dvd in one room and satellite in bedroom but alas no joy in mudville tonight. Didn't know the ac outlet over passenger seat could be powered from inverter. will have to check it out. Thanks. Makes sense when you think about it.

We could never watch a DVD on the front TV. While I was running wires I found the HDMI cable was never plugged into the front TV. I have a small portable DVD player that I can plug into the midship or rear TV to watch DVDs so I still have the option of watch both. The Blu Ray player use the surround sound so trying to watch something else on another TV just doesn't work.

I also mounted a 32 inch flat screen under the cabinet by the door which make watching TV from the sofa area much better.
