85 Tiffin Allegro owner 35 ft

Hello, I have just purchased a 1985 Allegro 35 ft motorhome. I would like to meet others who have experience with them. I have some questions I can't find answers to online. The Tiffin Co. does not cover the old ones. The actual model number is: 35 MEAK-14. It has two rear axles. I just acquired it today. For starts I am wondering how it is constructed. Is the framing for the walls and roof made of wood or metal?

Happy trails

might be good to find a local rv tech and have it checked out, before you go on a long trip. I meet a couple from Oregon in Carabelle Beach, FL a couple of years ago that were in a very old MH and it sounded like they were getting various things fixed as they were traveling, so unless you have plenty of time and money probably good to have it checked out. I do not plan on taking it on long trips. I need it for housing and as a music studio. I play jazz flute, therefor my name treblemaker. I am pretty good at fixing things for myself. Thing is, I can't find any information online about it.

What sort of Allegro do you have? Do you know how the cabins are constructed? Is the framing wood or metal?

David,

Older Allegro's were aluminum framed. The frames were welded on 16" centers with a sprayed on foam insulation, if memory serves. I'm kind of surprised Tiffin wasn't much help as they were proud of their construction, highlighting it in all their advertising.

That is very cool... the all metal framing that is. I thought that was the case.. just wanted to double check. I've had my fill of crawling around in composting motorhomes. Mine has a serious leak in the bow.. just around where the horns and spot light are mounted. The interior paneling needs replacing. No big deal if I don't have to reframe it too. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I don't know how to search the forums, I guess. There has to be others with the same rig. 85 allegro 34 meap-14... is what the tag on the bus reads.

I can't find a single manual for the thing. Does anyone have a Tiffin Allegro owners manual. I own the 1985 ME-AK.. but I expect that any manual from 85 era would have info useful to me. I have searched this site and found nothing, just requests like mine.

Email Tiffin service department. Then sent me the owners manual for the '89 Allegro we bought about a month ago.
