AC started on generator... then stopped.

I decided to try the genset auto start on our 2015 Allegro Red 38QRA. We've had it for three years but never used the auto-start feature. I unplugged from our 50 amp service and set the auto start temperature to 75F. Inside coach temp was 90F so the generator started up, then both ACs came online and ran for about 15 mins. Then the ACs both went off, obviously temp was not met, but the generator kept running. Tried to manually start the ACs on generator but neither would come on. Shut off the generator, reconnected shore power and the ACs would run. Then retried the generator to run them to no avail manually. Also noticed the battery was not showing charging while the generator was running. Any ideas? Need it to work in 6 weeks when I go dry camping in VA...

I would check the electrical breaker on the generator. On our 2014 Allegro Bus it is right on the generator.

If it is tripped, the ACs may have pulled too many amps. That could mean a bad capacitor on one of the ACs.

Agree, chances are you tripped the breaker. Are both your ACs on the same leg like L1 or L2?

Thanks to both. That is on my list to check. Just confused why they both ran for a period of time. No other load on the system.

Something else might have kicked on: refrig, inverter/charger.
