Adjusting the Big Slide
We have Power Gear slide outs. The largest, behind the driver's seat, needs adjustment. I found the Power Gear service manual, but it does not say what to do with the inner rollers. These are the ones that are under the slide floor and bear on the main floor. They're made of plastic (acetal or maybe UHMW), and screw into the floor under the carpeting.
Those rollers are quite worn. They are adjustable, but I can find nothing to tell me how they should be adjusted! I have new rollers in hand. How should these be adjusted once replaced?
The slide needs to be adjusted because the rear top stops moving an inch or so ahead of the rear bottom. The front top and bottom are reasonably in sync, but the carpet shows wear in the front from the roller wear, which has allowed the slide-in floor to drop below where it should be.
Any information, pointers, etc. vastly appreciated.

Not sure I follow that the top stop before the bottom, does it contact the seal first or is it stopping without fully seating against the wall?

If the top is hitting before the bottom, then the rollers at the leading edges of the slide need to be raised.

I spoke with Tiffin today. They tell me the slide floor should be just a smidgen above the coach floor on the rollers. (They use blue tape to indicate it...if it hits the tape and doesn't move it, it's great. If it's crinkled, it's too low. If it doesn't touch, it's too high.)
So, I'm going to start there, then adjust the floor height and side-to-side sync as detailed in the Power Gear manual.

The top contacts the seal first. The slide does fully seal against the outside wall.

Sounds like you are on the right track. It would be helpful if you documented how you fix it once you get it sorted out. I have had some issues with that slide as well so I am kind of waiting for the next shoe to drop.

I got it to more or less acceptable around the time I started this thread, and promptly went camping and forgot about it (sorry). But I was never really happy with it because the slide was low on the wall, as one could see looking at the paint lines outside.
The underlying problem was the slide floor. Kimbrough's replaced it last Fall and adjusted the slide. The new slide floor is a new design made by Tiffin that will never rot.
All the paint lines match and everything now (smile). It's one of the Big Three problems with the '06 Bus, and the other two were done previously, so we're on to smaller and better things now. We hope.
I highly recommend Kimbrough's. Fast, professional, reasonable prices. They even came in *under* the estimate by a couple hundred bucks.
