It is just behind the rear axle, on the DS. You can the cartridge housing off without removing the air dryer from the chassis.

My 2016 37AP has a Parker Racor AD-DU3X-48660 air dryer, requiring service every 3 years. I just had it serviced, and the dessicant kit was almost $300. Ouch!

On our 2014 37AP, it is a Haldex PURest. Haldex DQ6050 desiccant cartridge is $140. The China knock off versions are around $100. It is tricky to make sure you get a real Haldex part. I learnt the hard way.

Yup DQ6050 is $140 on Amazon. Going to see if Freightliner has it for a reasonable price when I go in on Monday for an alignment, then will decide whether to order it. Doubtful mine has ever been done. 2008 Phaeton with 60k.

Yes, that is ridiculous. I have the same one. Not sure why Tiffin put this dryer on. That is the price Tiffin charges as well. I thought I would easily beat that price since I have found Tiffin can be a little pricey on their chassis parts and shipping. I checked numerous vendors and even contacted Parker/Racor. Some vendors were actually selling the dessicant cartridge for more than a brand new dryer assembly that included a dessicant cartridge. Parker/Racor told me there isn't much of a demand for the 3X cartridge, so not many are made. Considering having a Haldex put on instead. I need to do more research beforehand.

It should be plug and play, but I couldn't find a single new Haldex air dryer. I could find rebuilt ones on ebay. Not something I want to trust to Bob's bait and air dryer service.

I am thinking about doing the same thing on my next changeout. I wonder if the connections are the same, or if there would be significant changes required?

Most modern air dryers are 3 ports. One 1/2" output line to the primary tank, and two from the governor (one 1/4" control line and one 1/2" line input).

The biggest question is mounting bolts. Haldex common is 3 bolts, but they have adapters.

2015 phaeton 40 ft

I have a 2015 phaeton 40 ft and have 56K on it and have never replaced the air dryer filter. I just looked behind the rear wheels on the driver side and could not find it. Attached are a picture of what I found. Any one know were to look for it. Thanks Dan

That isn't it. Since mine is a Bus, they probably moved stuff for the side radiator. Check the PS. It's about 8"x15".

Here is what it looks like. (It will be mounted right side up, just like the picture.)Haldex Air Dryer.pdf
