Airbag

Has anyone had issues with rear airbag? I overextended leveling jack and the airbag is now leaking. 2016 phaeton

How is it possible to overextend a leveling jack?

In any case, airbags normally last longer than that. Is there some evidence that overextension *of the airbag* caused it to fail?

The rubber of the bag separates from the lower metal flange. These are Wierd airbags, they are not mechanically attached but only friction fit. The air pressure seals it tight. When one overextends the jack the rubber slides off the lower flange. Once this happens you have to physically push the bag over the flange, not easy to do. Wondering if there is a replacement? I called Tiffin but they referred me to frieghtliner. They weren’t much help.

I once lifted the rear tires trying to level our 2014 Allegro Bus in a very unlevel camping site. It didn't cause a leak.

Are you sure it is the bag and not the lines going in? I believe there are quick connect fittings, and if the line got too extended it could cause a leak. Get some soapy water, or a bottle of leak detection solution from home depot/ lowes. (I prefer that stuff because the bubbles are easier to see. )

I took the airbag off and with the help of two others was able to slide the rubber over the flange. Works fine now but seems like a bad design.
