Alignments should be done every few years

Just had my front tires replaced. Drivers side outer side of tire had some small chunks of rubber broken away on first rib. Both tires had some wear on outside of tires. I was planning to replace all 6 tires this year. Tires have 28,500 miles on them and were built 49th week of 2011. Tires are 235/80/22.5. Last time I had an alignment was at 7,200 miles. I guess at every 10,000 miles it might be a good idea to get an alignment. New tires were built 1/18. Michelin rv tires are the same front and rear, so they don't make a true steering tire like they have for semi-trucks. Dave

There is no such thing as a steer tire. The confusion
results from the requirement that the steer tires can
not be re-treads. A lot of trucks run re-treads on the
drive tires and the trailers. They don't want to spend
the money. A lot of folks who own their tractors don't
run re-treads on the drive axles either.

Alignments should be done every few years

Every 2 years, Welcome to Pennsylvania, it is every 6 months with our roads. We are also very good at turning man holes into potholes,, too.

Also, was done 2 months ago, drove rt95 through South Carolina. And was damaged again, realigned and damaged tire moved to rear.

Michelin LTX MS2 245/75/R16 On Ford E550.

Pull up the various websites for commercial tires and you can read about steering tires. Dave
