Allegro 36LA -- L-Shaped Sofa or Regular Sofa
We are trying to determine if we really need the l-shaped sofa or if the regular sofa is better. We don't plan to have lots of guests, but we are going to be fulltiming and want comfortable lounging seating. I've read that the bed is better on the regular sofa. If you have a l-shaped sofa would you do it again? Anyone with experience have pros and cons?
Thanks for your help.

I don't know if they have improved the L-shaped sofa in current year models or not, but in our 2016 Allegro 34PA it is a big disappointment. It just isn't comfortable where the L pulls out from the main couch. Make sure you both sit on the L pullout before you choose it. I really liked what it is supposed to do for the living room area, but neither my wife nor I sat in it first. Big mistake. Live and learn. Maybe later year models are better.

We are going to replace our L shaped sofa. We hardly ever use the L shape and don't like the extended sleeper bed because it blocks walking from kitchen to bedroom.

We never use ours either. If they haven't re-designed the sofa, and I doubt they have, the "L" part is pretty much unusable. The seat isn't deep enough to really sit on.

The L shaped sofa in our 2016 in our 32SA was the most uncomfortable POS I'd ever sat on. The corner area was so hard the dog didnt even like laying up there. I vowed never ot own or buy another coach with one untill I sat in the L shaped sofa on our 2017 Allegro Bus....that one is comfy....The queen claimed it as her spot. Happy wife...happy wife

We thought about it before ordering our new coach but the fact that the seat was smaller and there is no foot rest (not a recliner) made it an easy decision. Our sales person also suggested pass on this configuration.

The L part is not comfortable, but we have two large dogs and need the extra space. The dog thinks the L part is just fine . In our model year (2015), the sofa bed does block the walkway, but the bed is very comfortable (according to our grown son). I understand that the new models do not block the walkway.

We also would pass on the 'L' next go round for all the reasons stated. Has not turned out to be as useful as we expected. As above, our dogs love it.

Fleetwood calls their L sofa a J sofa, I had ours unbolted and removed two days after purchasing our rig. Installed twin theatre seating in its place. Much nicer, IMO.

Thanks for the input.
Quick question, is it just the L seat that is uncomfortable or is the whole sofa uncomfortable? Is the area where the L seat slides under (the corner area) also uncomfortable?
Thanks again.

Can't answer your question as we have only opened the L extension 3 or 4 times. When opened it restricts the walkway. We have a difficult time getting it open and closed. Just not needed in our case.

The section of the sofa next to the area that the L closes into for travel is comfortable. It's also the section that holds the pullout bed (full size bed in our 34PA). The L pullout section is not comfortable at all. The section of the couch that the L fits into is less uncomfortable than the L itself, but not much. Also in the 34PA, neither the L nor the pullout bed restricts access to front/rear of the motorhome

On our 31SA (basically the same floor plan as the LA), we have the L couch. With this floor plan, it seems to be a reasonable compromise for us. Its not the most comfortable, but we generally like it.
We use the pull out as a footrest for the person sitting in the corner. What is nice, is for that person you have a high backrest all the way around, and as long as you are sitting on the corner section, it's firm but not too bad. What is a challenge, is laying in on the couch with your head in the corner, as you kind of sink into the other part of the couch, so you need to find out what works best with pillows etc. I don't think anyone has ever really sat on the pulled out section.....
I would not get the L in PA, as the drivers seat turned around (blocked by the pull out) is the best place to watch TV sitting up, with the other person in the passenger seat (turned around) or laying on the couch.....

On our 36LA it is just the L seat. The rest of the sofa, including the part that the L slides into, is comfortable.
