Another newby question

I am new to Motor Coach stuff and recently bought a 2008 Allegro Bus 43QRP and due to unexpected issues we are now full time living in it in a RV park with full time shore power. My question is how often do I need to run Genset and Drive motor to keep things lubed and not stagnant? Monthly, quarterly or even at all?

There is conflicting opinions on that. Some guys say that if you are going to start the chassis motor you should also go for a 20 mile drive to "excercise" everything. I do not. I sit 6 months in USA and 6 Months in a park in Mexico. We all start them once a month and let them get to operating temperature.

The genset, I run once a month and same deal. I put a load on it so I can warm it up.

Your diesel generator should be run monthly for about 1 hour under load to keep the charging mechanism cleaned and operational. The diesel coach engine should not be started unless you plan to take it out for at least a 25 mile drive to get it to full operating temperature. Otherwise just let it set. Unlike a gas coach, diesel fuel does not go bad just sitting as long as you have a biocide like BioBar JF additive in the fuel, and the diesel engine will be fine just left sitting. Diesel construction equipment sit for months and months and are never started with no problems.

Also, when storing, add a BIOCIDE such as Biobar JF to the diesel fuel and completely fill the tank.

This minimizes condensation and prevents algae growth that can clog your fuel filters.
