Anyone using Dish HD with W-gard T4 InMotion Sat?
Question: I have a Winegard T4 InMotion Dome on my 2018 IH. I had been using DirectTV with reasonable reception (in SD). But, I hated SD and especially hated dealing with DirecTV every time I changed locations.
I'm wondering if anyone else dumped DirecTV, bought a Dish or Wally receiver and changed the switches under the dome to convert the T4 to Dish reception? If so, how is the HD signal? Any problems?
My other alternative is to completely remove the T4 InMotion and replace it with a Trav'Ler...but I would prefer to not have to spend the $1,500 for a Trav'Ler if I don't have to. I don't care about "In motion" viewing so that's not an issue.
Thoughts? Many thanks.

Our Allegro RED came set up for DirecTV, but since we were already Dish customers I changed the RoadTrip dome switches to Dish. I had no problems with it until just before we traded it started losing reception. Some have reported problems doing the initial setup on a Wally with a dome antenna. If you can access a triple LNB antenna like a Trav'ler or a home antenna the setup goes much better. Once set up, the Wally worked just fine.

After 11 months of ownership I just recently purchased the Wally...already had the T4 but I never activated the DirecTV service, only used the cable and HD antenna. I have only had the service for two months but perfectly happy with it.
Changing the switches on the dome/dish was dirt simple and went according to instructions. The setup instructions that came with the Wally were slightly superseded by the new operating system in the unit itself so I struggled with the set up. Once I called the support number it was a different story, they walked me through it, waited on the phone while I checked all 4 TV's and transferred me over to the subscription dept. After that, no problems. First trip out I was sure that the site I selected had too much tree cover but it worked anyway. Bad weather combined with trees did interrupt service.
I am not a regular Dish customer at home and we are not full timers so I really like the pay as you go plan.

I have a new 32SA. Tiffin is now installing the Wally from Dish.I can say after a few glitches the Sat is working great. You can also get an app for your phone to turn on and off service as well as change the zip code to receive local channels.
One issue though has been a update Dish sent out over a month ago the is causing problems for some subscribers. The system will reboot and loose signals as well as take forever to acquire the signal. They don't have a fix for it as of yet but thankfully mine has not been affected here in the deep south.

I have a 32sa with the in motion and dish wallys. Works perfectly so long as you use a good app to select parking spots with a view of the satellites rather than big trees. The in-motion works well on interstates (with a few exceptions) but not very well in city traffic due to the frequent/abrupt turns. Only issue we have had is cases where the roof dish doesn't have a clear view to see the 119w sat, which is not so uncommon (large power lines overhead, large trees, tall buildings, etc...). While moving, if you are traveling east, with high trees so your right, you might encounter difficulties. We did on I-10 in a few places between Texas and Alabama.
Not a bad system IMHO. Only drawback is ONE satellite at a time. If you get two wallys, only the first one will cause the dish to move between the three dish sats, the other can only watch channels/transponders on the satellite the primary tuned to.

We are dish customers, and we just use dish anywhere on our computer and connect it via hdmi cable to the tv. As long as you have good internet connection it works great.

I just got an email from Dish They finally have a software fix for the Wally. At least that's what they say.
I can't get reception in my driveway so can't download the fix until I can get to a place with a clear view of the SW sky so I don't know if it's truly a fix.
They've had this problem since mid-April.

I also just received the emailing stating the new update was ready with the fix. I'm in the drive now and can't get a clear view to the sky so we will see.

I tried installing the fix several times and it wouldn’t load. I had a very clear view of the sky. Finally called Dish support and after three tries they forced the fix to install. It seems to be working (fingers crossed).

Well, getting signal loss again. Keeps switching from HD to SD and back, but never getting complete loss of signal. Will call again when I summon up the will.

I'm confused by your post. Are you saying you have the Inmotion dome satellite receiver and switched from DirecTV to Dish? Or, are you saying you switched from using the InMotion dome to a Winegard Trav'ler dish? thanks,

Hey John,
If you have Dish at home, you can connect your Wally inside and run the update for the receiver. That is how I did mine.
