Aqua Hot 450D making noises

Greetings,

Still learning how to search threads so I wouldn’t post and bother folks, but here is my question.

While laying in bed in either diesel or electric mode, the aqua hot system makes thumping noises such that it can wake you up. At first occurrence I went outside thinking someone was trying to break in the coach. The unit performs fine and all but wonder if this is just normal expansion contraction as the unit cool?

Thanks for reading.

Kevin

You’re getting steam bubbles in there. They can be caused by sediment, lime scale or “hard water” deposits, or the water pressure is too low. Each has a different fix. It’s fairly easy to diagnose low pressure, but the other problems are a little more difficult. If your pressure is low, that should be obvious and it will go away when you get better pressure. The other two will probably require service from a pro. Google servicing your Aquahot and there might be some things you can do yourself.

Did you verify that the noise is coming from the AquaHot?
If not, it might be coming from your transfer switch. Are you parked at a campground? Do you have an EMS like progressive? If you do, the EMS might be shutting down power due to over or under voltage and what you’re hearing is the transfer switch engaging. We have had that happen a few times in campgrounds with poor electrical service. I have to then turn off the EMS for the night.

Yes I have have verified that it is coming from the AquaHot unit. I will look at the other issues you mention. We are not in a campground.
