Are there problems with the Tiffin line scratching the tile floor as the slides move?

Hello Again! I have read several complaints on the TiffinRV Network that at least on the Phaeton and the Bus that there is a problem either when the slides are opened and closed or the damage is occuring as the rig is going down the road that the tile floor is being damaged, according to what I read Tiffin is aware of this issue but there is not fix at this time, one big question is this also happening on the Allegro Red as the tile on this unit is a little different then the Phaeton and the Bus, is anyone out there having this type of issues on the Red?? It seems that some of the owners are using plastic runners where the slide wheels are coming in contact with the tile, they are also using non skid shelf liner to get this accomplished, seems like an easy thing to do to protect the tile, but I really have not seen or maybe I missed it some how on this network.

I know Newmar is now providing plastic runners with the Dutch Stars.

This is not a problem that effects all units. I have a 2014 Phaeton and my floor looks pretty good - as in no marring. Someone on TRVN mentioned that the coaches with the problems all seemed to have electric floor heat. I don't. Maybe that 1/4" higher thing is important. However, this issue predates electric floor heat and is pretty much random on the units with tiled floors.

We have been on the road for over 4 years now and have had no tile issues from our slides.. Also I believe the Reds have vinyl floors, not tile, so whatever issues folks are having probably don't affect the Reds.

My 09 has a tile floor and I have no problems as of yet. I am a nut when it comes to vacuuming the floor and wiping it with a damp towel before I bring in my living room slides. Sand and dirt will imbed in the rollers and could scratch the tiles. I also spray WD-40 on the slide guide and a little on the rollers every so often.

Problems with tiles in the Phaeton and Bus??

Hello!! Thanks for your reply on this matter, the Red does have tile flooring I just ordered one and it comes with tiles, you can actually see the spare tiles in the basement. Thank for the tip on cleaning the area well before the slides are pushed in, I will make this a point, I guess no one with a Red is having issues or someone would have posted something. Again Thanks for the pointer.

I think this is the first year for REDs to have tile.
