Battery charge line from Phaeton to Jeep

Rookie question here: I need to install a charge line from my 2018 Phaeton to my 2019 Jeep Wrangler tow vehicle due to dead batteries on arrival in my toad.

Does any know if the 7-way plug at the rear of the 2018 Phaeton is pre-wired from the factory to be hot? Or will I first need to purchase and run a charge line from the coach batteries to the rear plug before I start wiring my Jeep battery plug?

I use a LSL toad charge.
Do you have the LED light package? Depending on how your Jeep is wired for taillights, you could be “waking up” the Jeep each time you touched the RV brake.

Don’t have a Tiffin but on the 7 way connector, the #4 pin is reserved for a hot 12 volt connection. Easy test with a volt meter.

Make sure that you are testing with the RV ignition on. My Newmar is hot only with the ignition on.

Look at the cap on the 7 way connector on your Phaeton. There should be a diagram that shows which signal is on each pin. The connector should be wired for 12v. However, Tiffin has been known to miss that wire.

Assuming your IH is wired completely, you should be fine. I installed a generic 12V to 12V battery tender in the Jeep end and it works great. You will need the 6 pin connector for the Jeep end and the 7 pin to 6 pin cable between IH and Jeep. Some of the BluOx and maybe other kits don't come with the 6 pin connector and conversion cable; some don't come with the electrical part at all.

Our IH also has a 12v hot wire that is only active when the ignition is on. That power is required on my JK for the Mopar light harness.

As stated above. If your IH came from the factory correctly assembled then there is 12V pin on the 7 pin connector at the rear of the motorhome. I have a 7 to 6 pin cable from the motorhome to the Jeep. On the back side of 6 pin receptacle on the Jeep there is a simple way to connect a 16 gauge wire, through a 10 amp inline fuse, to the positive side of the battery. I did this because my battery would occasionally be dead.
