Battery size

I am looking to replace the 4-6volt house batteries and the 2-12volt chassis batteries on my 2006 Tiffin Phaeton. The coach is parked 50 miles away so I do not have access to check out what the proper size I am looking for the model or size of the batteries and a recommendation as to where to find the best price. I am in upstate New York and there are Sams Club nearby. Thanks.

Sorry I can't help with the exact measurements you require. Just wanted to say hello .
If another member can't provide the info your after, I believe Tiffin has a toll free help line. I'll see if I can track down the number.
Is your coach built on a Freightliner Chassis ? Cummins powered ? ISB, ISL ?

You can get the size of the batteries by going to a battery maker web site such as Interstate or Trojan or US-Battery and finding the battery specifications, then you can find a 12 volt to fit the same box.

If you want to match amp hours, either 4-D or 8-D 4 is slightly smaller, 8 slightly larger,, But.. Take a look at the size of those suckers first, THEY ARE BIG AND HEAVY which is 1/2 the reason they use six volt pairs.. (Easier to install) the other is lower cost.

There is a reason that 6v golf cart batteries are used instead of 12v. The 6v batteries can take a lot more charge/discharge cycles than 12v can and have higher amphours. The plates are thicker. I think you should do a little more research before replacing the 6 volt batteries with 12's. Sams Club has some great prices on the 6 volt batteries (and 12v) so take a really close look before changing.

The way I read it, the OP plans to replace the 6V house with 6V, and the 12V chassis with 12V. Not convert from 6V to 12V.
