I am real close to purchasing a new 43' tag. I really had my mind made up to go with the 43' Newmar Dutch Aire. But this week I came to the Tampa RV Super Show and saw the 43' Allegro Bus. I really fell in love with the cabinet finish. Here is my problem. I know for a fact that I can buy a Newmar (NO TRADE, CASH ONLY) for 30% off the MSRP. I was at Lazy Days and looked at the above mentioned Allegro Bus and she quoted me like 20% off. I told her I thought more like 30%. And she made me think I was from another planet. Am I way off base here???

Hi VACMAN,
Lazy Days didn't get that big by being the cheapest in town. I had good luck with my 08 Phaeton (36' QSH) from Su5n Coast in Cococa, FL. I was able to get 30% off. I hear the Tiffin dealer in Huntsville, Al is good to work with also. So Good Luck and keep us up to date.

You will also want to check with Bankston for the Tiffin. I think you will get much more coach for the money going with Tiffin over the Newmar.

We just made a deal on a new Phaeton 36 QSH with Suncoast RV in Cocoa. We went back there because it is close and that is where we bought our last coach. All in all it has been a very positive experience.
They beat LD by 5K on the same coach. If you go there talk to Rodney, initially, and then hammer Jamie, the branch manager, to finalize the deal.
As Steve says, you get a lot more for your money with Tiffin. IMHO

I've had three Newmar coaches, all new, and now own a 2007 42QRP Allegro Bus. No comparison ! The Bus is an Awesome coach and alot more "Bang for the Buck" over the Newmars......
My last Newmar was a 2006 DSDP 4304. It was not the coach I hoped it would be and ended up making four trips to the factory in one year to get major things fixed.....
We are very satisfied with our Bus.

Most of the RV salespeople we have talked to say, although all sales are down, Tiffin products remain in higher demand than many other brands. This may be one reason there is a lower discount on the Allegro Bus. When we visited the factory last September, they were very slow; but most of the motorhomes on the line at that time were Allegro Buses and Zephyrs. It looked like the high end of the Tiffin line was selling better than the Phaeton, Bay, and Allegro.
Newmar is a good brand, but we really LOVE our Tiffin. I would shop around for a better price. You should be able to do better without a trade.

I also owned Nemmar coaches. I would classify them as OK. However, a Tiffin coach is a step above Newmar in every way.

You Might give Dicky Stout Motor Ranch in Amarillo a call. They sell mainly Tiffin and are a wonderful group to work with.
I have a Newmar, but I get all of my service work done there.

New Tiffin owner
Yesterday we purchased a 2007 42ft Phaeton with 11,000 miles on it. While I had my heart set on a Dutch Star - this coach had everything in it that we wanted where we wanted it. I was very happy to read the thread from all you Tiffin owners -we look forward to putting many many miles on it.

We chose to become a Tiffin owner
As first time owners of a motorhome and are now fulltiming we chose the Tiffin Phaeton 2009 QTH. Ordered it from Bankston and picked it up in Dec. 2008. We have been very pleased with the coach.

Banston is very competitive, Lazy Days won't come close.
We were at a Tiffin Rally last week, 125 coaches. When Bob Tiffin was introduced he got a real standing ovation.
All you heard from attendees over the four days was how good the customer support is.
Buy the Tiffin.

Tiffin never stopped building coaches through the downturn in business. They only build to order only. So that tells you something. Newmar closed down before Christmas and re-opened on 5/18 to build coaches for at least a month. That's was for the amount of orders they had. I don't know if they are still building or not, but I do know they stopped having their factory tours.......Maybe it's a situation of "no building no tours'?

Ask the same question in the Newmar section, and you'll get different answers.
Look at both and buy your favorite floorplan.
