Bedroom slide opening a little then hangs up
Hello Friends! I need your help. I'm currently traveling and in Portland Oregon, when we arrived at our campground the rear passenger bedroom slide opens a little and then tends to dig in and not open, it seems to hang on something I think it must of jump a tooth or something. I called the nearest Tiffin dealer for help and no one can help me until late September what a joke!!!!! Any suggestions??? I have a 2015 Allegro Red 38 QRA. Thank YOU!!!!!!

Is it digging in on the bottom or the top. I would try moving the slide and try pushing on the opposite side of the digging.

I really cant tell! The whole slide seems to get stuck to one side so I stop because I'm afraid it's going to get stuck in the open position, at least now is in the closed position. I will call Tiffin in the morning and see if they can recommend someone in this area for help, I called the local dealer here in Portland and their answer was we are full and cannot see you until mid September I explained that we were passing through but they did not care!!! Terrible customer service when you are in a bind!

Is it a Schwintek electric slide system? You can identify if it is by the track along each side of the slide at the top on the outside. If so, there are lots of possibilities. There are two motors ... one for each side and they must work perfectly in synch. These motors are known for breaking wires and failing. Can you tell if both motors are running when you push the extend button? Second, the slide moves on a set of rollers that are fastened to the floor. It is possible that something got under the bed and gets dragged into a roller, jamming it. Third, the motors can get out of synch and there are postings online at the Schwintek site about how to get them into synch again, but your problem sounds worse than that. I'm sure others will point out other problems they have had with this slide mechanism!

Is there something underneath in the bay that's shifted and binding things up?

Check your schwintek controllers for blinking red lights error codes. They are the size of a cigarette pack, mounted on a sidewall down in one of your bays.

Contact Phillip. He is an authorized Tiffin repair and knows the coach well.
