BIRD (Bi-directional Isolation Relay Disconnect) - Recommendations?

I installed a Magnum SBC (smart battery combiner) a few months ago. It quit almost immediately and I can't get the manufacturer to send a replacement, even though I have an approved RMA. So, obviously, I'm not going to install another Magnum SBC.

I'm looking for recommendations. I'm leaning towards the Blue Sea Systems ML-ACR (7620), but I've heard good things about Intellitecís Bi-Directional Isolator Relay Delay Ė Diesel 2 product. Not sure if there are others just as good.

The Blue Sea has a lifetime warranty, and I like not having to find room for another solenoid. I can't find the Intellitec warranty.

Anyone use one of these products or others that have worked well for you?
Thanks

I have the Bi-Directional Isolator Relay Delay

I have the Bi-Directional Isolator Relay Delay system in mine and the B.I.R.D. is bad. They are on back order with everyone I have checked with. I would like to do away with this system and use something else. Honestly, I don't know enough about the electrical system to know how to change it. Good luck with your change over.

The BIM 225 is a latching type isolation relay. I have the 160 amp model and it works fine.

Yandina.com sells a lifetime guaranteed 600 amp battery combiner. I have the small one and it's been fine for years.

I have installed the ML-ACR 7622 on a few motorhomes, the first in 2014. No issues with any of them. Installations can vary based on what you are replacing.

That was a very nice install. I didn't think about the option to use this to replace the original booster solenoid. That would give me a place to install it, plus a place to put the Blue Sea dash switch (in place of the original booster switch).

Plus I was wondering how the 2 would work together if I needed to boost the chassis batteries.

Twinboat, thanks for the recommendation. The Yandina 200 & 600 look like good options. Will research some more.

DRM901-

here's a thread for you to read through:

Windsor owners Blue Sea ML-ACR install, I need spare wires front and back

It's worth reading through the whole thread.

That was a good read, and now I want to get it done ASAP. Will just need to figure out how to run the extra wires to my dash. Not too worried about getting one to the starter solenoid since that is all in the basement.
