BrakeBuddy stealth question

Hi all, I just had a Brake Buddy Stealth installed in my 2003 allegro 32ba and now I lost my alarms.. when you turned the key the dashboard would lite up and the alarms would sound, also, if your lights were left on after you turned off the engine an audible alarm would sound. That doesn't happen anymore.. Also is it normal for the controller to be powered all the time and will it place a drain on the battery? Before I contact the installer and have him say "that's normal following the install" I wanted to check with you all. Thanks.
