Breeze or keep the 5er
Hi folks, This is my first time on the forum. I have been looking at the Breeeze and I noticed that the new ones have less HP and Torque than the 360hp/650ft# of my DRW Duramax that I pull a 3400rl Montana with. Am I going to be disappointed in the power of the Breeze. I'm planing on a cross country trip next spring.
Thanks for any help.

Take the total weight of your 5th wheel and the truck and then divide the truck's horsepower by the total weight. To make it easy, use the max GVWR for the truck and fifth wheel. That will give you HP/lb. Now do the same thing for the motorhome.
They are probably real close to one another and therefore not really an issue any longer.

The way I look at the Breeze is not as an entry level RV but more of a 3/4 scale Class A. The fit and finish of the Breeze is no less than that of the Red, it's just smaller and more compact. If size restrictions are your reason for looking at the Breeze then it is a great option compared to other micro class A's. If size isn't a factor then the Red may be a better option. The perceived felt power of the Breeze is not any different from what I felt from the Red. I have briefly test driven both.

First Welcome to the forum.
You don't mention what your motivation is for wanting to go from fiver to a Breeze. Many new Breeze owners came from larger rigs to the Breeze because its downsizing in all regards. So if you just desire to get in a Class A for the convenience, I understand that.......but why chose the Breeze, with all its limitations.....
As others have indicated, there are many "better class A options" out there. But if it is going miniature in all regards, the Breeze is a "Good Choice". Just do your research if its one with the Maxx Force engine....

I have a Breeze. It's terrific. Independent front suspension, lower height, and narrower than an Red. It allows us to take narrower roads with less pucker factor and the reduced height creates less of a concern on roads with lots of trees. It feels very maneuverable. We also love the curved dinette seating. Some folks are biased towards larger rigs. We weren't.

First welcome to the forum.
I have to agree with many of the other posters and I would look at the RED series if you can swing it. The Breeze will make an excellent choice as well. Good luck in your search

I ran some numbers the opposite way and came up with these:
Duramax & Montana= 5#/1HP
Breeze= 105#/1HP
Red= 89#/1HP
Phaeton= 100#/1HP
I realize that gearing and such can make a real world difference. I just think the numbers are interesting.

These are a lot of the reasons we looked at the Breeze.
Still chewing on it.
